A Note From Kirsten Kjaer Weis:
While most KJAER WEIS products are Certified Organic by the CCPB (the Italian organic certifying authority), our lip tint in “Romance” uses red 6 (CI15850) and yellow 5 (CD19140) dyes- which are allowed by both the FDA and EU for use in personal care products. While red 6 (CI15850) and yellow 5 (CD19140) dyes have been proven safe, they cannot be certified organic.
However 95% of the remaining ingredients used in “Romance” are very high-quality organic raw materials, making “Romance” as close-to-organic as we can possibly take our formulation without having to compromise the beautiful color. I believe that full transparency is necessary in order to provide my customers with the choice in using this color or not.
In order for the KJAER WEIS color range to offer certain colors it will be necessary to now and then use a small percentage of non-organic color dyes and I will always acknowledge this choice to my consumers.
